Are non-U.S. citizens eligible for the program?
|
According to the FCC's Office of Human Resources, the current FCC policy on hiring non-U.S. citizens in the excepted service is to follow the guidance provided by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, at www.opm.gov/employ/html/Citizen.htm. Assuming you meet the criteria outlined there and the specific Honors Program eligibility requirements (see the Honors Program webpage, www.fcc.gov/attorneyhonorsprogram), you may be considered for the Honors Program. Do I need to be licensed to practice law in D.C. to participate in the program?
|
No. Graduating and recently graduated law students who are not yet members of a bar may participate in the program. Also, attorneys with no more than two years of legal experience who are members in good standing of the bar of a state or territory of the United States, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or the District of Columbia may participate in the program.

When is the next application deadline?

We currently are not accepting applications for the Attorney Honors Program. Future application deadlines will be posted when available on the Honors Program webpage at www.fcc.gov/attorneyhonorsprogram.
