Ruben Gomez
Ruben Gomez just completed his second year at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he is on the Moot Court Board and is a finalist in the law school’s 2003 Moot Court Competition. Previously, he earned a B.A. in Political Science and Sociology from Yale and a Masters in Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. Ruben is from Queens, New York.
Silvia Ostrower
Silvia Ostrower
Silvia Ostrower is an Argentine lawyer who graduated from the University of Buenos Aires in 1998. She was granted several awards, including the Argentine Supreme Court Prize to the graduating lawyer having the highest GPA in her class, and the Honors Diploma. She started her professional career at a Buenos Aires law firm where she worked for three years on domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, antitrust law and pro bono projects. In 2001, Silvia was selected as a Fulbright candidate (declined). She pursued an LL.M. at New York University School of Law in 2002-2003, where she was selected as a Hauser Global Scholar. In her LL.M. studies she focused on international and antitrust law. Silvia is also a Public Translator (English-Spanish).
Jennifer Phurrough
Jennifer Phurrough
Ms. Phurrough received her bachelor’s degree in Journalism at the University of Colorado, Boulder. She currently attends the Catholic University of America School of Law, where in addition to obtaining a law degree, she is a certificate candidate in the Communications Law Institute. Ms. Phurrough competed in the National Telecommunications Moot Competition and is Senior Leads Article Editor on the CommLaw Conspectus, The Journal of Communications Law and Policy. Previously, she has interned at the FCC in the Media Bureau’s Policy Division. She has been a legal intern in Commissioner Copps’ since January 2003. Prior to law school, Ms. Phurrough worked at a public relations firm for high-technology companies and served on Mark Udall’s campaign for the U.S. House of Representatives.
Jarrett Taubman
Jarrett Taubman
Jarrett is pursuing joint degrees in public policy in law at the New York University School of Law, and in public policy at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard, where he has focused on the intersection between technology policy and international security. He was raised on Long Island, and spent his undergraduate years at Cornell University, where he studied industrial and labor relations. He was Editor-in-Chief of the Kennedy School Review, and currently serves as Book Review Editor of the Journal of International Law & Politics at NYU. He recently completed an analysis of the commercial space launch industry for the National Reconnaissance Office, and is finishing a research project for the Berkman Center for Internet Law and Society on associational rights in cyberspace. In his leisure time, he enjoys listening to and playing music, reading, playing squash, and debating just about anything.
