Notice of Comment and Reply Deadlines for

Cable Technical Requirements Notice of Proposed Rulemaking

and

Availability of Final Report of the Advisory Committee on Cable Signal Leakage

MB Docket No. 12-217

On August 3, 2012, the Commission adopted the Cable Television Technical and Operational
Requirements, Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, which proposes rules governing proof-of-performance
and cable signal leakage for cable and non-cable multichannel video programming distributors.1 The
deadline to file comments on this notice is 60 days after publication in the Federal Register, and the
deadline for reply comments is 30 days after that. The Federal Register published a summary of the
Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on October 9, 2012.2 Sixty days from this date is Saturday, December 8,
2012. Accordingly, the deadline to file comments in response to the Notice is Monday, December 10,
2012, and the deadline to file replies is Monday, January 7, 2013.
Additionally, the Media Bureau has made available the Final Report of the Advisory Committee
on Signal Leakage on the FCC’s Electronic Comment Filing System, or ECFS.3 The Final Report was
released on November 1, 1979, and is the basis of the FCC’s current signal leakage rules.
