DA 13-1175Mr. Raymond Benedict
CBS Communications Services Inc.
1800 K Street

Call Sign: E130031
File No.: SES-REG-20130214-00171
Dear Mr. Benedict:
On February 14, 2013, and on April 5, 2013 CBS Communications Services Inc. (CBS) filed
the above-captioned applications for registration of a new fixed-satellite service receive-only
earth station in the 3700 to 4200 MHz (space-to-Earth) frequency band. Pursuant to Section
25.112(a) of the Commission’s rules, 47 C.F.R. § 25.112(a)(1), we dismiss the application as
defective, without prejudice to re-filing.
Section 25.112(a) of the Commission's rules, 47 C.F.R. § 25.112(a), requires the Commission
to return, as unacceptable for filing, any earth station application that is not substantially
complete, that contains internal inconsistencies, or that does not substantially comply with the
Commission's rules. Because CBS did not submit a frequency coordination report, as required
by Section 25.203(c) of the Commission's rules, 47 C.F.R. § 25.203(c), its application is
not substantially complete and is unacceptable for filing.
Accordingly, pursuant to Section 25.112(a)(1) of the Commission's rules, 47 C.F.R. §
25.112(a)(1), and Section 0.261 of the Commission's rules on delegations of authority, 47
C.F.R. § 0.261, we dismiss CBS' application without prejudice to re-filing.
Paul E. Blais
Chief, Systems Analysis Branch
If CBS re-files an application in which the deficiency identified in this letter has been corrected,
but is otherwise identical to the one dismissed, it need not pay an application fee. See 47 C.F.R. §
2 47 C.F.R. § 25.203(c).
