1.
On October 5, 2012, the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau and the Office of
Engineering and Technology released a Public Notice inviting interested parties to update and refresh the
record in the wireless microphone proceeding.1 In this Order, we extend the comment and reply comment
filing deadlines in this proceeding to provide that comments are due on or before December 21, 2012, and
reply comments are due on or before February 19, 2013.2

periods be modified so as to coincide with the comment cycle in the Incentive Auctions NPRM.4 TheJoint Filers assert that an extension is required because “many of the issues raised in the public notice are
entwined with issues under consideration in the Incentive Auctions NPRM” and that the Public Notice
“involves complex technical and operational issues.”5 Engineers for the Integrity of Broadcast Auxiliary
Services Spectrum support the Joint Motion.6
3.
The Commission’s policy, as set forth in Section 1.46(a) of its rules,7 is that extensions of
time are not routinely granted. In the instant case, however, we find that providing an extension will
serve the public interest by allowing all parties additional time to consider and discuss the complex issues
in the wireless microphone proceeding. This extension of time also will enable parties to fully evaluate
and take into account in their comments any related issues in the incentive auctions proceeding that may
affect wireless microphones, ensuring that we have a complete record in this proceeding. Therefore, we
grant to all parties an extension of the comment and reply comment filing deadlines, establishing
December 21, 2012 as the new comment filing deadline and February 19, 2013 as the new reply comment
deadline.
4.
Accordingly, IT IS ORDERED that, pursuant to section 4(i) of the Communications Act
of 1934, as amended, 47 U.S.C. § 154(i), and sections 0.131, 0.331, and 1.46 of the Commission’s Rules,
47 C.F.R. §§ 0.131, 0.331, and 1.46, the Joint Motion for Extension of Time to File Comments filed by
Shure Incorporated, Audio-Technia U.S., Inc., ESPN, Inc., Lectrosonics, Inc., Robert Bosch LLC,
Sennheiser Electronic Corporation, The Society of Broadcast Engineers, Inc., and The National Football
League IS GRANTED.
5.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that, pursuant to section 4(i) of the Communications Act of
1934, as amended, 47 U.S.C. § 154(i), and sections 0.131, 0.331, and 1.46 of the Commission’s rules, 47
C.F.R. §§ 0.131, 0.331, and 1.46, the deadline to file comments in this proceeding is extended to
December 21, 2012 and the deadline to file reply comments in this proceeding is extended to February 19,
