FCC COMMISSIONER ROBERT M. McDOWELL
ANNOUNCES STAFF CHANGE
Washington, D.C.--FCC Commissioner Robert M. McDowell announced today that ErinMcGrath will be joining his staff as Acting Legal Advisor for media issues.
"I am looking forward to Erin joining my office as acting legal advisor for media issues. Erin
brings with her both a depth and breadth of experience from her 11 years here at the Commission
including extensive work with a variety of wireless and media transaction reviews, rulemakings
and auctions. Her intellect and diligence will make a terrific addition to my team."
Ms. McGrath has worked at the Commission since March 2000, most recently as Assistant
Division Chief in the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau's Mobility Division. During this
time, she engaged in numerous rulemaking proceedings, was instrumental in the review of
several major wireless and media transactions, and managed post-auction licensing matters. She
also served as the interim Legal Advisor to Commission Meredith A. Baker for wireless,
international, and public safety issues. Ms. McGrath received her B.A. from the University of
Pennsylvania and her J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
Rosemary Harold, who has served as Legal Advisor for media issues to Commissioner
McDowell since September 2008, has decided to begin considering other opportunities outside
the Commission. Commissioner McDowell expressed his appreciation for Ms. Harold's service:
"It has been one of the highlights of my tenure at the Commission to have served with Rosemary
Harold. She has a keen intellect and deep historical knowledge of media law which is second to
none. Her legal skills are unsurpassed. All of us in the McDowell office will miss her and we
wish her the best in her new endeavors."
