STATEMENT OF COMMISSIONER ROBERT M. McDOWELL
REGARDING CORRECTION TO MAY 4, 2012 EDITION OF
COMMUNICATONS DAILY
The May 4, 2012 edition of Communications Daily incorrectly attributed the following quote to
Commissioner McDowell:
McDowell said NAB “seems to have recognized that opening up unused TV channels for
innovative broadband uses, without disturbing existing broadcast operations, is the best
result for the public. It's a far better outcome than broadcasters losing even more channels
in an auction to benefit Verizon and AT&T.”
Communications Daily will run a correction in this evening’s edition.
Commissioner McDowell continues to believe that the Commission should not exclude any
specific companies from participating in the upcoming incentive auctions, as Congress clearly
intended.
