Announce Agenda for Workshop on the 3.5 GHz Notice of Proposed Rulemaking
WT Docket No. 12-354The FCC’s Wireless Telecommunications Bureau and Office of Engineering and Technology are
hosting a workshop focusing on the FCC’s Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to make 100 megahertz of
spectrum in the 3550-3650 MHz Band (3.5 GHz Band) available for shared small cell use. The workshop
will take place on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at the Commission’s Headquarters in Washington, DC.
The tentative agenda is below; a finalized agenda will be released prior to the workshop.
The Notice of Proposed Rulemaking lays the groundwork for the widespread deployment of small
cell technologies in the 3.5 GHz Band, and would spur significant innovation in wireless technologies and
applications throughout the economy, while protecting incumbent users in the Band.
The goal of the workshop is to bring together top innovators and thinkers in the small cell,
database management, and spectrum sharing fields to discuss technological developments. The workshop
will explore small cell technology in the context of the 3.5 GHz Band as well as database and dynamic
spectrum sharing technologies that could be utilized to manage access to the Band.
