DECEMBER 4, 2013, AT FCC HEADQUARTERS

By this Public Notice, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC or Commission),
consistent with the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA),1 announces that the FCC’s

Room at FCC Headquarters, located at 445 12th Street, SW, Room TW-C305, Washington, DC
20554.
The CSRIC is a federal advisory committee that will provide recommendations to the
Commission regarding best practices and actions the Commission can take to help ensure
security, reliability, and interoperability of commercial and public safety communications
systems, including: (1) the reliability and security of communications systems and infrastructure;
(2) 911, Enhanced 911 (E911), and Next Generation 911; and (3) emergency alerting. On March
19, 2013, the FCC, pursuant to the FACA, renewed the charter for the CSRIC for a period of two
years through March 19, 2015.2
This is the second meeting under this CSRIC charter. At the meeting, each of the
working groups will provide a progress report. Topics to be covered will include emergency
alerting systems, 9-1-1 location accuracy, distributed denial-of-service, and cybersecurity best
practices. There are no votes scheduled for this CSRIC meeting. Each of the ten CSRIC
Working Groups is described in more detail at
http://www.fcc.gov/encyclopedia/communications-security-reliability-and-interoperability-
council-iv.
Members of the general public may attend the meeting. The FCC will attempt to
accommodate as many attendees as possible; however, admittance will be limited to seating
availability. The Commission will also provide audio and/or video coverage of the meeting over
the Internet from the FCC’s web page at www.fcc.gov/live.
