Comment Deadline Extended in Low Power FM - FM Translator Rule Making
New NPRM Comment Date: September 6, 2011
New NPRM Reply Comment Date: September 20, 2011
On July 12, 2011, the Commission adopted and released a Third Further Notice of Proposed RuleMaking in the Matter of Creation of a Low Power Radio Service; Amendment of Service and Eligibility
Rules for FM Broadcast Translator Stations.1 The Media Bureau ("Bureau") announced that comments
and reply comments were due by August 29, 2011, and September 12, 2011, respectively.2
The Bureau has received a request that these deadlines be extended, due to the disruptions of
business and communications resulting from Hurricane Irene.3 We find that these circumstances justify
an extension of the comment period. We therefore extend the deadlines for filing comments and reply
comments to the Third Further Notice to September 6, 2011, and September 20, 2011, respectively.
For additional information on this proceeding, contact Peter Doyle, Tom Hutton or Kelly
Donohue, Audio Division, Media Bureau, (202) 418-2700. Press inquiries should be directed to Janice
Wise, (202) 418-8165. TTY: (202) 418-7172 or (888) 835-5322.
