PUBLIC SAFETY AND HOMELAND SECURITY BUREAU ANNOUNCES

REGION 39 (TENNESSEE) PUBLIC SAFETY REGIONAL PLANNING COMMITTEES

TO HOLD 700 MHZ AND 800 MHZ NPSPAC MEETINGS

The Region 39 (Tennessee) Public Safety Regional Planning Committees (RPCs) will hold two
planning meetings on Wednesday, December 18, 2013. Beginning at 9:00 a.m., the 700 MHz Public
Safety RPC meeting will convene at the Rutherford County Emergency Management Agency, 1220 W.
College Street, Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
The agenda for the 700 MHz meeting (subject to change) includes:
§
9:00-9:15 – Welcome and introductions
§
9:15-9:45 – 700 MHz Tennessee updates
§
9:45-10:15 – Presentation on the Tennessee Advanced Communications Network (statewide
P25 trunked radio system)
§
10:15 – Break
§
10:30 –11:00 Open discussion on possible Plan changes, and other matters:
o 700 MHz 6.25 kHz P25 Phase 2 migration requirement
o FCC license filing procedures and CAPRAD

o Changes to 700 MHz Plan
o 700 MHz broadband
§
11:00 – Plan change proposals and voting, if needed
o Election of officers for the 700 MHz RPC -- Region 39 Bylaws provides for election
of officers in odd years
§
11:30 – Adjourn for lunch
Beginning at 1:00 p.m., the 800 MHz Public Safety RPC meeting will convene at the same
location.
The agenda for the 800 MHz meeting (subject to change) includes:
§
1:00-1:15 – Welcome and introductions
§
1:15-1:45 – 800 MHz Tennessee updates
§
1:45-2:15 – Presentation
§
2:15 – Break
§
2:30-3:00 – Open Discussion on possible Plan changes, and other matters:
o FCC license filing procedures and CAPRAD
o Changes to 800 MHz Plan
§
Plan change proposals, and voting if needed -
o
Region 39 Bylaws provides for election of officers in even years

Both Region 39 RPC meetings are open to the public. All eligible public safety providers in
Region 39 may utilize these frequencies. It is essential that eligible public safety agencies in all areas of
government, including state, municipality, county, and Native American Tribal be represented in order to
ensure that each agency’s future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process. Administrators
who are not oriented in the communications field should delegate someone with this knowledge to attend,
participate, and represent their agency’s needs.
All interested parties wishing to participate in the planning for the use of public safety spectrum
in the 700 MHz and 800 MHz bands within Region 39 should plan to attend. For further information,
