STATEMENT OF FCC COMMISSIONER MIGNON L. CLYBURN ON FRONTIER
COMMUNICATIONS’ CONNECT AMERICA FUND ANNOUNCEMENT
“I was pleased to wake up this morning to the news that Frontier Communications will beaccepting the Connect America Fund Phase I support, and in exchange will be providing
broadband service to 92,876 households. Reforms to the Universal Service Fund last year
resulted in this money being made available for carriers to deploy in unserved areas, and are
instrumental in bringing broadband opportunities to more Americans. I congratulate Frontier, its
soon-to-be served customers, and the hard-working staff at the FCC, who have been crucial in
implementing these reforms.”
