Daniel Kirschner, Counselor to the General Counsel

Daniel Kirschner joined the Commission in September 2011 as Counselor to the General Counsel.  Prior to joining the Office of General Counsel, Mr. Kirschner served as an Attorney Advisor in the Office of Legal Counsel at the Department of Justice.  Before that, he was in the Supreme Court and Appellate Practice Group at Mayer Brown LLP, where he specialized in litigation before the United States Supreme Court and Circuit Court of Appeals.  Mr. Kirschner clerked for the Hon. Pierre N. Leval of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.  He received his A.B. in English and American Literature from Harvard College, and his J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he was President of the Harvard Law Review.
