MyFCC is a customizable tool that gives users fast access to the agency’s information online.
The MyFCC experience was designed to help users save time by giving them easy access to the information they need. The tool provides an innovative way for FCC audiences -- telecommunications professionals, legal practitioners, press, consumers and others -- to work with FCC content. MyFCC gives users the choice to share their MyFCC selections with colleagues or on the Web, and to save their work for later use.
MyFCC uses a customized page, or "dashboard." that lets users drag and drop the content they want onto their screen. The service is streamlined, and designed with frequent FCC.gov visitors in mind. MyFCC gives access to many of the most popular tools and services -- such as the Daily Digest, documents organized by Bureau or Office of origin.
Creating an Account
To use MyFCC, begin by navigating to http://My.FCC.gov. By using your choice of popular web services, you can log in and begin to customize your dashboard. This way you can return to MyFCC any time to have quick and easy access to the information you need. The third-party web services do not access your MyFCC information and MyFCC does not access any information from the third-party web service. These options offer greater security and do not require you to create yet another username and password to remember. You can log out at any time by clicking ‘Log Out’ at the bottom of the page.
If you do not want to create a MyFCC account, you can choose to create a ‘no sign-in’ session. You will not be prompted to create an account, but also your customized dashboard will not be saved for future sessions. Though the session won’t be saved, if you customize your dashboard during a no sign-in session and want to access it at a future date, click on the ‘Share this Dashboard’ button in the top right corner and bookmark the URL.
Getting Started
MyFCC is composed of one or more dashboards on which you can arrange various blocks of information known as widgets. When you first access MyFCC, you will see a ‘Getting Started’ widget that offers links to helpful information as well as ways to give feedback and report any problems you find.
After creating a MyFCC account, the first time you log in, you will be offered a choice of three preset options for widgets. If you choose a preset option, you’ll also be prompted to choose up to three FCC topics that are of interest to you. These options will pre-configure your initial set-up, but you can rearrange and further customize your dashboard at any time.
Customizing Your Dashboard
You can move each widget around to customize the layout of your widgets by clicking on the header of a widget and dragging it to another spot on the dashboard.
To add a new widget, click the ‘Add Widgets’ button in the top right corner. You can add available widgets by either by dragging it by the left panel onto your dashboard or by clicking the plus button.
To remove a widget from your dashboard, click the X in the top right of the widget.
Some widgets offer settings that allow you to select which information displays in that widget. It is necessary to select settings for that widget before you are able to move or embed it. You can change your settings anytime by clicking the gear icon in the top right of the widget.
Managing more than one dashboard
You can create multiple dashboards to give you different arrangements of widgets, based on your preferences. To add a new dashboard, click the new dashboard tab with a plus sign in the top left, next to the ‘Main’ tab. You will be prompted to give the new dashboard a name to identify that tab. To remove a dashboard, click the X to the left side of the dashboard tab.
Sharing
If you would like to share the MyFCC arrangement, you can easily do this by clicking the ‘Share this Dashboard’ button in the top right. The resulting URL can be shared with any one else without the need for them to log in or create an account.
You can also embed any widget on other websites by clicking the pushpin button in the top right and styling the resulting code snippet.
Feedback
Please help us make MyFCC better. You can suggest new widgets, which will be added to MyFCC on a regular basis. Report bugs or problems with MyFCC or provide general feedback to help us improve MyFCC for all users.
