Welcome to the Federal Communication Commission's 2003 World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-03) Homepage. Under the auspices of the United Nations, WRCs are convened to consider specific radiocommunication matters while ensuring rational, equitable, efficient and economical use of the radio-frequency spectrum. It is important to recognize that the radio-frequency spectrum is a limited natural resource essential to the global, regional and domestic communication infrastructures. Thus, the decisions of WRC-03 will have broad and significant implications for U.S. government, industry and consumers. At WRC-03 we will seek to further the public interest by promoting competition, innovation, effective management of radio-frequency spectrum and telecommunications development. We are committed to an open, common sense approach in our preparations for WRC-03.
