  Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI)

The Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (www.treas.gov/cdfi) was created to support financial institutions that provide credit and financial services to low-income persons or to distressed urban, rural and Native American communities. CDFI administers the Native American Technical Assistance Program and Training Program. Native American Technical Assistance Program and Training Program

CDFI will award $5 million each year for training and technical assistance through this program. The purpose of the program is to increase access to capital in Native American, Native Hawaiian and Alaska Native Communities. The program has three primary goals: 1) to assist financial institutions serving these communities, 2) to enhance the capacity to provide access to capital and credit, and 3) to assist tribes, villages and Native American communities to establish CDFIs.
