Office of Communications Business Opportunities
OCBO serves as the principal advisor to the FCC Chairman and the Commissioners on issues, rulemakings, and policies affecting small, women, and minority-owned businesses. In addition, we represent the FCC in various matters coordinated with the U.S. Small Business Administration, including those involving the Regulatory Flexibility and Small Business Acts.
Our mission is to promote competition and innovation in the provision and ownership of telecommunications and information services by supporting opportunities for small, women, and minority-owned businesses.

| Summer |
OCBO will select one college student and one law student. Baseline selection criteria will include:
- A demonstrable interest in the telecommunications field, with a particular focus on issues affecting small, women, and minority-owned communications businesses;
- Resume & Cover Letter;
- Writing Sample;
- Unofficial transcript;
- Interview
We will also consider the applicant's relevant work experience, and honor society and journal membership, among other things.
