TV Programming
Almost all television broadcast stations provide at least three hours per week of “core” educational programming for children, which is programming specifically designed to educate and inform children. Such programming is identified by the symbol “E/I” which is displayed on-screen throughout the program. Find “core” educational programming available on commercial television broadcast channels. For information about “core” educational programming for children available on non-commercial educational television broadcast channels, see http://pbskids.org/. Cable and satellite providers may also provide educational programming for children. Information about this programming may be available from your cable or satellite provider or from individual cable or satellite program networks. In addition, information about educational programming for children can be obtained from a number of independent organizations including: The Parents Television Council Coalition for Independent Rating Services
