REGION 20 (NORTHERN VIRGINIA, MARYLAND AND DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA)

PUBLIC SAFETY REGIONAL PLANNING COMMITTEES TO HOLD 700 MHZ AND

800 MHZ NPSPAC MEETINGS

The Region 20 (Northern Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia)1 Public Safety
Regional Planning Committees will hold two consecutive planning meetings on Thursday, September 13,
2012, beginning at 10:00 a.m., at the Prince George’s County Public Safety Building, 17321 Melford
Boulevard, Bowie, Maryland.2
The agenda for the 800 MHz meeting includes:

Beginning at 11:15 a.m., the 700 MHz Public Safety RPC meeting will convene at the same
location. The agenda for the 700 MHz meeting includes:

Review and approval of applications for 700 MHz frequencies

Committee Reports
o Technical Committee
o Operations Committee – appointment of Chairperson
o Public Safety Broadband and National 700 MHz Interoperability Channel Updates

1 The Region 20 regional planning area includes Arlington, Fairfax, Fauquier, Loudoun, Prince William and Stafford
Counties; and Alexandria, Fairfax, Falls Church, Manassas and Manassas Park Cities.
2 Directions to the 911 Center: From the north – travel south to Route 3/301, continue south to Belair Drive exit,
and turn left at bottom of hill onto Melford Boulevard, follow to end. The 911 Center is on the right. From the south
- travel north on 301 to Melford Boulevard exit, bear right at end of ramp and follow to the end. From the west –
travel Route 50 east to 301/Melford Boulevard exit, bear right at bottom of ramp and follow to the end. From the
East – travel Route 50 west to 301/Melford Boulevard exit, bear right at bottom of ramp and follow to end.

The Region 20 meetings are open to the public. All eligible public safety providers in Region 20
may utilize these frequencies. It is essential that eligible public safety agencies in all areas of government,
including state, municipality, county and Native American Tribal be represented in order to ensure that
each agency’s future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process. Administrators who are not
oriented in the communications field should delegate someone with this knowledge to attend, participate,
and represent their agency’s needs.
All interested parties wishing to participate in the planning for the use of public safety spectrum
in the 700 MHz and 800 MHz bands within Region 20 should plan to attend. For further information,
