REQUEST FOR EXEMPTION FROM COMMISSION’S CLOSED CAPTIONING RULES

CGB-CC-0799 DISMISSED

Pursuant to 47 C.F.R. § 79.1 of the Commission’s rules, on June 15, 2012, Gospel Broadcasting Network
(GBN) filed a petition for exemption from the closed captioning requirements, based on the economically
burdensome standard, for its programming.1 GBN’s petition was placed on public notice on September 6,
2012.2 On October 26, 2012, GBN requested that its petition be withdrawn without prejudice. Based on
GBN’s request to withdraw, its petition is hereby dismissed without prejudice.
