Centel merged with Sprint in 5/92. Central Telephone of Illinois continues as an operating company under the Sprint Holding Company with one study area jurisdiction: Illinois.

Central Telephone of Illinois had no changes during this period.

1997



Central Telephone Company of Illinois - Chicago Metro Section (a large portion of study area CEIL) was sold to Ameritech in 10/97. Sprint still filed all their required ARMIS reports for CEIL because it was still over the revenue threshold.

COSA remained Under Sprint but a large portion of it (Chicago Metro) moved to Illinois Bell (LBIL).

 

1998



Central Telephone Company of Illinois was sold to Gallatin River Communication on 4/22/98.
