1990 - 1996

NYNEX had no changes during this period. Prior to 1990, NYNEX Corporation was holding company for two operating companies: New England Telephone and Telegraph Company (NETC) consisted of five study area jurisdictions: Maine (NEME), Massachusetts (NEMA), New Hampshire (NENH), Rhode Island (NERI) and Vermont (NEVT); and New York Telephone Company with one study area jurisdiction, New York (NYNY).

1997

NYNEX Corporation was acquired by Bell Atlantic Corporation (BNTR) on 8/14/1997.
