April 15, 1998 MARSHA J. MACBRIDE NAMED DEPUTY CHIEF (ACTING) CABLE SERVICES BUREAU Marsha J. MacBride has been named Acting Deputy Chief to the Cable Services Bureau. She has served since November 1997 as the Senior Legal Advisor to the Mass Media Bureau, where she oversaw the Commission's review of the industry's voluntary rating system and implementation of V-chip regulations. From December 1996 to November 1997 MacBride was Legal Advisor to Commissioner James H. Quello for matters relating to broadcast and cable television, including the digital television, closed-captioning and inside wiring proceedings. She has also served as Special Assistant to the Chief of the Mass Media Bureau. She joined the Commission in 1991 as an attorney in the Political Programming Branch of the Mass Media Bureau's Enforcement Division. Prior to joining the Commission, MacBride was associated with the law firm of Bishop, Cook, Purcell and Reynolds, where she specialized in the areas of cable television and broadcast transactions and regulation. She graduated magna cum laude from Douglass College, Rutgers University, in 1981, and received her Juris Doctor from the National Law Center, George Washington University, in 1985. - FCC -
