On August 28, 1997, the Commission released a Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking ("Further Notice") in the above dockets. The Further Notice sought comment on, among other things, a proposal regarding the disposition of cable inside wiring in multiple dwelling unit buildings. Interested parties were required to file comments in response to the Further Notice by September 25, 1997 and reply comments by October 2, 1997. 2. In an Order released September 25, 1997, the Commission noted that its October 2, 1997 deadline for reply comments inadvertently required the submission of reply comments to the Further Notice during a religious holiday and extended the deadline for filing reply comments to October 6, 1997. 3. On September 25, 1997, Media Access Project, Consumer Federation of America, DIRECTV, Inc., Philips Electronics of North America Corporation, and Thomson Consumer Electronics, Inc., ("Media Access Project, et al.") filed a Request for Extension of Time to Submit Reply Comments. In the request, Media Access Project, et al. asked the Commission to extend the deadline for submission of reply comments to the Further Notice until October 16, 1997. Media Access Project, et al. stated that the original October 2 deadline coincided with a religious holiday that ends at sundown on October 3. Even without the religious holiday, Media Access Project, et al. stated that the one week reply period is insufficient. 4. We deny Media Access Project, et al.'s request for extension of time. Such motions are not routinely granted. The deadline for filing comments has been extended by four days and no longer coincides with the religious holiday. The Further Notice was released on August 28, 1997 and addressed specific issues in the proceeding. We think there is adequate time to file any reply comments. 5. Accordingly, IT IS ORDERED that Media Access Project, et al.'s Request for Extension of Time to Submit Reply Comments is DENIED. This action is taken pursuant to Section 4(j) and 5(c) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, 47 U.S.C. 154(j) and 155(c), and authority delegated thereunder pursuant to Sections 0.5(c), 0.101 and 0.321 of the Commission's rules, 47 C.F.R. 0.5(c), 0.101 and 0.321.
