                 TIM PETERSON NAMED DEPUTY DIVISION CHIEF, 
                      ACCOUNTING AND AUDITS DIVISION, 
                            COMMON CARRIER BUREAU
                                      
       Tim Peterson has been named Deputy Division Chief for the Accounting
and Audits Division of the Common Carrier Bureau.  Prior to his appointment, he
was a Counsel to the Common Carrier Bureau Chief.  

       Peterson joined the Commission in February 1995 as an attorney in the
Bureau's Accounting and Audits Division.  Before that he worked for an Atlanta,
GA, affiliate of Peter Kiewit Sons' Inc. of Omaha, NE..

       Peterson earned a B.B.A. in accounting from the University of Georgia, an
M.S. in accounting from the University of Virginia, a J.D. from the University of
Georgia, and an M.S.P.P. in telecommunications policy from the Georgia Institute
of Technology.  He is also a certified public accountant.
