April 8, 1998 EQUIPMENT AUTHORIZATION DIVISION OF THE OFFICE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY ANNOUNCES FORM 731 ELECTRONIC FILING SEMINARS The Office of Engineering and Technology (OET) will hold seminars to assist prospective equipment authorization applicants and their representatives with the requirements and methodology for electronic filing of Form 731, Application for Equipment Authorization. The Commission intends to begin accepting electronically filed Form 731 applications in early May, 1998. A Public Notice will be issued announcing the specifics of the implementation. Applicants are expected to benefit from an improved speed of service for electronically filed Form 731 equipment authorization applications. Each seminar will cover the WEB Form 731 and associated amendment and correspondence functions, the grantee code assignment module, and the public reporting module. The schedule for the seminars, which will be limited to 25 individuals per session, is as follows: Session 1 - April 20, 1998 9 am - 12 noon Session 2 - April 20, 1998 1 pm - 4 pm (if required) Session 3 - April 22, 1998 9 am - 12 noon Session 4 - April 22, 1998 1 pm - 4 pm (if required) The session(s) will be held in the Conference Room of the FCC Laboratory, 7435 Oakland Mills Road, Columbia, Maryland.
