IN THE COMMISSION MEETING ROOM The Office of Engineering and Technology will present a tutorial on "Third Generation Mobile Systems: Around the World with IMT-2000." The tutorial will be given May 12, 1998 at 1:30 p.m. in the Commission Meeting Room, Room 856, 1919 M Street N. W. The presenters will be Richard Engelman, Chief of the Planning and Negotiations Division in the FCC's International Bureau, and Henry Straube, US Representative to the International Telecommunications Union ITU-R Task Group 8/1. Mr. Straube is a Senior Engineer in the Planning and Negotiations Division of the International Bureau. The tutorial will cover the ITU's efforts to develop recommendations regarding the next generation of cellular and PCS technology, and what is happening in the U.S. and elsewhere in the world on third generation mobile systems.
