Report No. ET 98-7 ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY ACTION September 28, 1998 EQUIPMENT AUTHORIZATION DIVISION OF THE OFFICE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY ANNOUNCES OPTION FOR ELECTRONIC FILING TO REGISTER NEW TEST FIRM AND/OR RENEW TEST FIRM Test Firm Registration and Renewal are being accepted electronically in accordance with 47 CFR 2.948 . Both procedures can be accomplished by using the Internet and accessing www.fcc.gov, Electronic Filing, OET Equipment Authorization Division Electronic Filing. Note available options of Register New Test Firm, and Add Exhibits or Renew Test Firm. Upon completion of registering a new test facility, a Test Firm Registration Number will be assigned for identification and renewal purposes. A Test Firm Registration Number has been assigned to each measurement facility already listed, and will appear in a letter which will be mailed to each facility at least 60 days prior to expiration of the listing. An explanation of the required exhibits is as follows. Please note: 1) Only the following apply to test firm registrations; 2) Confidentiality is not applicable to test firm registrations. a. Attestation statement -- Anti-Drug Abuse Act Certification statement b. Cover letter -- Include general introduction and whether filing is new or renewal. c. External photos -- Open Area Test Site (OATS) and surrounding area. d. Internal photos -- Anechoic chamber; weather-protected OATS; line conducted test site. e. Operational description Physical description of radiated and line conducted emissions test sites; list of measuring equipment; information on calibration of measuring equipment; dimensioned drawings of the sites; description of structures used to support device being measured and the test instrumentation. f. Test report -- Site attenuation data. (over) - 2 - Applicants who file electronically are expected to benefit from an improved speed of service. We therefore strongly encourage submission of the Test Firm Registration, both new and renewal, and all attachments using the new electronic process.
