January 25, 1999 JOHN GIUSTI NAMED CHIEF, INTERNATIONAL SPECTRUM BRANCH, PLANNING AND NEGOTIATIONS DIVISION, INTERNATIONAL BUREAU The FCC today named John Giusti as Chief of the International Spectrum Branch in the International Bureau's Planning and Negotiations Division. Most recently, Giusti served as Senior Attorney to the International Bureau's Telecommunications Division. In that capacity, Giusti worked extensively on FCC efforts to reform the international settlements system and assisted in implementation of the U.S. obligations under the World Trade Organization's Agreement on Basic Telecommunication Services. Giusti also has represented the FCC at meetings of the International Telecommunication Union, including the Second World Telecommunication Policy Forum and Fifteenth Plenipotentiary Conference. Giusti joined the FCC in 1994 as an attorney in the Common Carrier Bureau. While there, he served as the lead attorney responsible for implementation of the accounting safeguard provisions of the Telecommunications Act of 1996. Giusti earned a BS from the University of Florida, and a JD from Boston University School of Law. - FCC -
