LCI International, Inc. (LCII) and LCI International Telecom Corp. (LCI Telecom), (LCII and LCI Telecom are jointly referred to as LCI), and TresCom International, Inc. (TresCom), pursuant to Section 214 of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, submitted the above-captioned application requesting authority to transfer control of Intex Telecommunications, Inc. (Intex) from LCI to TresCom. The application was placed on public notice on December 18, 1996. No comments were received. 2. Intex is a wholly-owned subsidiary of LCI Telecom, the primary operating subsidiary of LCI. Intex has been authorized to provide various facilities-based international communications services. In addition, Intex has filed an application for authority to resell private lines interconnected with the public switched network for the provision of switched services between the United States and Australia. This application is pending with the Commission. LCI Telecom is also authorized to provide international communications services. Neither LCII nor TresCom holds a Section 214 authorization. However, TresCom's wholly-owned subsidiary, TresCom USA, has been granted authority to resell international switched telecommunications services. 3. Upon consideration of the application, we conclude that consent to transfer control of Intex from LCI to TresCom will serve the public interest, convenience and necessity. 4. Accordingly, IT IS ORDERED that the application of LCII and TresCom, File No. I-T-C-96-670(TC) IS GRANTED, and the transfer of control of Intex from LCI to TresCom is authorized. 5. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that all terms and conditions of any Commission orders granting authority to Intex to provide common carrier services remain in effect. 6. This Order is issued under Section 0.261 of the Commission's Rules and is effective upon adoption. Petitions for reconsideration under Section 1.106 or applications for review under Section 1.115 of the Commission's Rules may be filed within 30 days of the date of public notice of this Order (see Section 1.4(b)(2)).
