                 APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED FOR FILING



COMSAT Corporation                         File No. 31-SAT-ISP-97

     Comsat Corporation has filed a letter concerning the reorganization of certain business
     lines within its corporation.  Specifically, Comsat International Communications (CIC)
     will be eliminated and the business units included within CIC will report directly to the
     corporation.   

Interested parties may file comments or petitions concerning the referenced proceeding on or before
February 12, 1997.  Replies or oppositions may be filed on or before February 19, 1997.

     COMSAT Corporation, through its World Systems business unit, has applied for authority
     to participate in the launch and in-orbit testing of the Intelsat 801 satellite.  It is
     anticipated that the 801 satellite will be launched on February 21, 1997 and will be
     located at 64  E.L.  

Interested parties may file comments or petitions concerning this application on or before February 10,
1997.  Replies or oppositions may be filed on or before February 18, 1997.
