January 28, 1999 UNITED STATES ITU-R STUDY GROUP 11 Television Broadcasting MEETING NOTICE A meeting to prepare for United States participation in the upcoming INTERNATIONAL activities of the Working parties and task groups of ITU-R Study Group 11 and its Working Party and Task Groups will be held on Thursday February 11, 1999. The international meetings for Study Group 11 will be held in Geneva, Switzerland May 17 through June 2. The U.S. preparatory meeting will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the offices of the Federal Communications Commission, International Bureau, 2000 M Street NW, Washington, DC. Room 576. Study Group 11 prepares recommendations and reports of the International Telecommunication Union on technical and operational aspects of television broadcasting, including the recording of programs for international exchange, assessment of picture quality, interconnection of equipment, system planning, and interactive TV services. (The U.S. meetings of Joint Working Party 10-11S for satellite sound and television broadcasting are scheduled separately.) The agenda for the February 11 preparatory meeting will include review of ITU Radiocommunication Sector working procedures, agendas of the international meetings, solicitation of United States contribution documents, review of any available foreign contributions, and confirmation of U.S. representation to the Task Groups and Working Parties delegations.
