At the request of Lac Qui Parle Broadcasting Company, Inc. ("petitioner"), the Commission has before it the Notice of Proposed Rule Making, 11 FCC Rcd 14454 (1996), proposing the allotment of Channel 296C3 at Clear Lake, South Dakota, as the community's first local aural transmission service. Petitioner filed comments in support of the proposal reaffirming its intention to apply for the channel, if allotted. No other comments were received. 2. We believe the public interest would be served by allotting Channel 296C3 at Clear Lake, South Dakota, since it would provide the community with its first local aural transmission service. Channel 296C3 can be allotted to Clear Lake in compliance with the Commission's minimum distance separation requirements with a site restriction of 2.7 kilometers (1.6 miles) southwest to avoid a short-spacing to the licensed site of Station KMGK(FM), Channel 296A, Glenwood, Minnesota. 3. Accordingly, pursuant to the authority found in Sections 4(i), 5(c)(1), 303(g) and (r) and 307(b) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, and Sections 0.61, 0.204(b) and 0.283 of the Commission's Rules, IT IS ORDERED, That effective May 27, 1997, the FM Table of Allotments, Section 73.202(b) of the Commission's Rules, IS AMENDED, with respect to the community listed below, to read as follows: City Channel No. Clear Lake, South Dakota 296C3 4. The window period for filing applications for Channel 296C3 at Clear Lake, South Dakota, will open on May 27, 1997, and close on June 27, 1997. 5.
