NEWS August 11, 1997 THIRTEEN FCC EMPLOYEES HONORED FOR OUTSTANDING SERVICE The Commission has honored 13 of its employees by presenting the Distinguished Service (Gold Medal) Award to seven and the Meritorious Service (Silver Medal) award to six. These are the Commission's highest awards for excellence. The Distinguished Service Award is presented to employees whose accomplishments over a sustained period of time have had an extraordinary impact on the ability of the Commission to accomplish its mission. The Meritorious Service Award is presented to employees whose accomplishements over a sustained period of time have had an exceptional impact on the ability of the Commission to accomplish its mission.
