March 1, 1999 REFERENCE CENTER TO CONTINUE TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF PUBLIC ACCESS TO BROADCAST ENGINEERING FILES The Reference Center, Room 239, 1919 M St., NW, Washington, DC, will continue to temporarily suspend public access to broadcast engineering files and over night requests for station correspondence. Suspension of public access to these files is necessary during the relocation of the Federal Communications Commission to the Portals II building. Public notice will be provided when access to these files resumes. While the files are in transition to Portals II, the FCC duplicating contractor, International Transcription Service, Inc. (ITS) will be able to access the engineering files. However, because ITS will not be permitted to remove these files from the Portals II building, requests for material from the engineering files should be specific. To order material from the engineering files, contact ITS at (202) 857-3800. Every attempt will be made to provide public access to Commission files during the agency's relocation to the new Portals facility. For additional information, contact Bill Cline, Chief, Reference Operations Division, at (202) 418-0267. - FCC -
