NEWSReport No. WT 95-15 WIRELESS TELECOM ACTION September 1, 1995 FCC DENIES WAIVER REQUESTS IN THE FIRST AUCTION OF IVDS LICENSES In the context of the payment rules for the first IVDS auction, the FCC denied an application for review filed by Commercial Realty St. Pete, Inc., and denied petitions for reconsideration filed by Interactive America Corporation, Louisiana Interactive Broadcasting System, Inc., Henry L. Mayfield, and Vision TV, Inc., Inc. On July 28 and 29, 1994, the Commission held the first auction of IVDS licenses. Pursuant to auction rules, the deadline for the initial down payment required of "small business" winning bidders was set at August 8, 1994. Certain winning bidders failed to meet that payment deadline and submitted requests for waiver of the deadline. By Order adopted pursuant to delegated authority, those requests were denied on October 7, 1994. The present item addressed the application for review and four petitions for reconsideration of that Order, and affirmed the previous determinations. Action by the Commission August 18, 1995 by MO&O (FCC 95 -367). Chairman Hundt, Commissioners Quello, Barrett, Ness and Chong. - FCC - News Media contact: Stacey Reuben Mesa at (202) 418-0654.
