On December 2, 1994, Acadian Ambulance Services, Inc. (Acadian), filed a petition for reconsideration of the Narrowband Commercial Radio Branch's decision denying Acadian's request for special temporary authority (STA) to transmit from 1899 Manhyde Road, Lake Charles, Louisiana. In its petition for reconsideration, Acadian argued that the STA was not needed to provide service in a new service area, "but, to avoid loss and interruption of Acadian's essential communications services in the already authorized Lake Charles area." On October 1, 1997, Acadian requested dismissal of its petition for reconsideration "due to the fact that the Commission granted the underlying application." Since the date of the request, the Commission has issued a license to Acadian for the above referenced site that does not expire until March 29, 2005. Following a review of the above-referenced filings, we find that the matters raised in the petition are now moot. 2. Accordingly, IT IS ORDERED, that, pursuant to Sections 4(i) and 405 of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, 47 U.S.C. 154(i) and 405, authority delegated by Section 0.331 of the Commission's rules, 47 C.F.R. 0.331 and pursuant to Section 1.106 of the Commission's rules, 47 C.F.R. 1.106, the Petition for Reconsideration filed by Acadian Ambulance Services, Inc. on December 2, 1994, IS HEREBY DISMISSED as moot.
