Report No. WT 97-33WIRELESS TELECOM ACTION August 4, 1997 NORTHERN CALIFORNIA AREA (REGION 6) REVIEW AND REVISION COMMITTEE RECEIVES APPROVAL FOR MINOR AMENDMENT TO ITS REGIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY PLAN (GEN. DOCKET NO. 90-287) By this notice, the minor amendment to the Region 6 Public Safety Radio Plan (Region 6 Plan) for use of radio frequencies in the 821-824/866-869 MHz bands within the Northern California area is approved. The amendment identifies specific users within certain counties to which existing channel allotments had been made. The amendment also includes certain provisions to formalize the administrative process through which the Review and Revision Committee has been operating. On February 26, 1997, we received a letter dated February 19, 1997 from Region 6 (Northern California) proposing to amend the Region 6 Plan, which was adopted by the Commission on May 29, 1990, General Docket No. 90-287, 5 FCC Rcd 3449 (1990), and subsequently revised on November 20, 1990, 5 FCC Rcd 7123 (1990), July 22, 1992, 7 FCC Rcd 4908 (1992), and October 17, 1994, 9 FCC Rcd 6128 (1994). In accordance with the Public Safety National Plan, each region is responsible for planning its use of public safety radio frequency spectrum in the 821-824/866-869 MHz bands. Report and Order, General Docket No. 87-112, 3 FCC Rcd 905 (1987). We have reviewed the Region 6 request, and find that the amendment furthers this goal. The amendment is considered a minor amendment and no further concurrences are needed. Therefore, the amendment is accepted as submitted. The Secretary's office will place the amended Region 6 Plan in the official docket file where it is available to the public.
