Washington, D.C. 20554 Released: September 4, 1998 WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS BUREAU MAKES MICROWAVE AND COAST AND GROUND DATABASES AVAILABLE FOR REVIEW PRIOR TO ULS IMPLEMENTATION This notice instructs licensees in the following services on how to access and review the Wireless Telecommunications Bureaus licensing database and how to submit corrections if necessary: Common Carrier Fixed Point-to-Point Microwave Private Operational Fixed Point-to-Point Microwave Digital Electronic Message Service Local Television Transmission Service Marine Coast (including Public Coast, Private Coast, Maritime Support, Maritime Radiodetermination, Marine Utility, Marine Receiver Test and Alaska Fixed Stations) Aviation Ground (including Unicom, Multicom, Aeronautical Enroute, Aeronautical Fixed, Flight Test, Aviation Support, Aeronautical Utility Mobile, Aeronautical Search and Rescue, Airport Control Tower, Aviation Radionavigation and Automatic Weather Observation Stations) The Bureau is developing a Universal Licensing System (ULS) to combine 11 separate databases and provide greater efficiencies in the entire licensing process. This system will provide the public with electronic filing as well as online querying and mapping capabilities. In order to maximize the benefits of these tools, licensing data must be current and accurate. Prior to transferring licensing data from our existing databases into the ULS, we are making these databases available via the Internet so that licensees may review the data. How to access the databases. Licensees may access the databases via the Internet at http://www.fcc.gov/wtb/. Licensees may review a database online one call sign at a time, or download an entire database for analysis on the licensee=s computer. To query an individual call sign, click on "Search WTB Databases Online" and use the general menu reports to retrieve license data. To download an entire database, click on "WTB Database Files". You will find a file of Microwave authorizations (micro1.zip) and Marine Coast and Aviation Ground authorizations (coast.zip). Both the online search and the database files contain only current authorizations. Each licensee should confirm that all administrative and technical data shown in the database is correct and that its operating parameters are consistent with those provided by its license. How to submit corrections. Licensees may notify the Bureau of database errors informally. In those instances where there is no record of the license in the database, or where site, frequency, or technical data is missing or incorrect, licensees should submit a copy of the station authorization or a copy of the original application for authorization and any subsequent applications for modification of the license. Any documentation should clearly indicate the data that is missing from the licensing database or the corrections that are required. Wherever possible, copies of applications should reflect the FCC stamped receipt date. To ensure that the Bureau has ample time to take timely corrective action prior to conversion of the data to the ULS, corrections must be received in the Bureau by November 1, 1998. Where to submit corrections. Corrections should be mailed to: Federal Communications Commission Wireless Telecommunications Bureau Information Technology Division 1270 Fairfield Road Gettysburg, PA 17325-7245 ATTN: Microwave/Coast and Ground Database Corrections Questions may be directed to Melissa Hower at (717) 338-2544 or by e-mail at mhower@fcc.gov.
