PUBLIC NOTICE FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION 445 TWELFTH STREET, S.W.; TW-A325 WASHINGTON, D.C. 20554 News Media Information: (202) 418-0500 Fax-On-Demand: (202) 418-2830 Internet: http://www.fcc.gov ftp.fcc.gov DA 99-2060 Released: October 1, 1999 WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS BUREAU TO CONDUCT MORE UNIVERSAL LICENSING SYSTEM (ULS) INTERACTIVE DEMONSTRATIONS IN OCTOBER 1999 Demonstrations on Filing Transfers and Assignments in ULS Scheduled October 21 and 28 The Federal Communications Commission's (FCC's) Wireless Telecommunications Bureau (WTB) will conduct additional interactive demonstrations of its Universal Licensing System (ULS) in October 1999. WTB also is seeking comments and suggestions from those interested in attending such demonstrations in order to better coordinate and design the events. ULS is a new, interactive licensing system developed by the Bureau to consolidate and replace eleven existing licensing systems used to process applications and grant licenses in wireless services. ULS provides numerous benefits, including fast and easy electronic filing, improved data accuracy through automated edit checking of applications, and enhanced electronic access to licensing information. WTB will hold demonstrations on filing Transfers and Assignments in ULS on October 21 and 28. Topics will include: non-pro forma Transfers and Assignments, pro forma Transfers and Assignments under the Bureau's streamlined Forbearance procedures, and partial Assignments involving partitioning and disaggregation. Both sessions will be held in the ITC Training Room on the 12th Street level (main entrance level) of the Portals building at 445 12th Street, S.W. The sessions will run from 9:30 am until 12:00 pm. WTB has chosen the above topics based on comments from previous demonstrations and will add, delete or modify future demonstrations as interest dictates. WTB plans to hold ULS demonstrations on additional wireless services as they are deployed. Comment also is requested as to whether WTB should hold interactive demonstrations at its Gettysburg, PA, office, and on future topics for the demonstrations. Parties interested in attending the demonstrations and/or providing comments should contact Randy Byrd at (202) 418-0584, or via e-mail at rbyrd@fcc.gov. Please specify which session you would like to attend and provide a telephone number and e-mail address at which you can be contacted. You may also indicate what specific service(s) are of most interest to you. Seating is limited and will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. Requests will be limited to one attendee per session per organization, company or firm. Note: The ITC Training Room accommodates up to 14 persons per session, and an attendee may have to share a computer monitor with another attendee.
