Kingsgate Telephone, Inc.

Petition for Waiver of the Definition

of “Study Area” in the Appendix –

Glossary of Part 36

Adopted: July 15, 2014

Released: July 15, 2014

By the Acting Chief, Telecommunications Access Policy Division, Wireline Competition Bureau:

On June 30, 2014, ETS Telephone Company, Inc. (ETS) requested a 60-day extension of

time to file a study area waiver request in the above-captioned proceeding.1

ETS claims that an extension

is warranted because the employees who addressed this issue in 1996 are no longer with the company, the

records required may be several years old and are not readily available, and ETS is a small company with

few employees.2

We grant a 60-day extension, until September 16, 2014, of the deadline for ETS to file a

study area waiver request.3

Although the Commission does not routinely grant extensions of time, we

find the circumstances in this case constitute good cause. We urge ETS to use this extension of time to

discuss its waiver request with other relevant incumbent local exchange carriers and the Public Utility

Commission of Texas and to ensure that ETS files a complete request.
