FCC CHAIRMAN SAYS CABLE CAN BE LEADER IN
CONVERSION TO DIGITAL AGE
     FCC Chairman Reed E. Hundt said that "no
industry has a better chance than cable to be the leader in
the country's  conversion to the digital age."  In a speech
delivered to the National Cable Television Association
(NCTA) Convention in Dallas, Texas, he said, "Cable has
the great advantage of a superior medium that passes 95%
of all homes."
