TIMELY DEPLOYMENT OF NEW TOLL FREE
NUMBERS (Report No. DC 96-3, Action in Docket Case)
     The Common Carrier Bureau today announced
action to resolve certain issues and allow the industry to
open the new toll free service access code, 888, on March 1,
1996.

UNLICENSED BIOMEDICAL TELEMETRY DEVICES.
Proposed to amend Part 15 of the Commission rules to
expand the available frequencies and increase the permitted
power for unlicensed biomedical telemetry devices operating
on VHF and UHF television channels. Comments are due

clarification that certain rate and service restructuring do not

seek affirmative subscriber consent to accomplish such
restructuring, state law is inconsistent with federal law and
