APPLICATIONS FOR AUTHORITY PURSUANT TO SECTION 214 OF THE COMMUNICATIONS ACT OF 1934, AS AMENDED, TO ACQUIRE AND OPERATE CAPACITY IN THE NORTH PACIFIC CABLE SYSTEM. Reconsidered conditions imposed by the Common Carrier Bureau in its 1991 order (DA 91-588) granting six carriers authroity, pursuant to Section 214 of the Communications Act of 1934, to acquire and operate capacity in the North Pacific Cable (NPC) system for provision of authorized common carrier services betwen the United States and points in the Pacific Ocean region. Granted the licensee's (Pacific Telecom Cable, Inc. - "PTC") petition for reconsideration and removed the conditions in question. Dismissed any pending applications to modify the NPC calbe landing license, SCL-86-002, to add a party as a licensee, filed in response to DA 91-588. Action by Acting Bureau Chief. Dismissed the July 2, 1997, Application for Review filed by the Joint C-Block Applicants, which contested the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau's 1997 action dismissing Savannah Independent PCS Corporation's petition for reconsideration challenging the 7 percent interest rate imposed on licenses conditionally granted on September 17, 1996. Denied the June 17, 1997, Application for Review filed by Omnipoint Corporation and the July 2, 1997, Application for Review filed by Savannah Independent PCS Corporation, both of which involved challenged the Bureau's decisions regarding the C Block PCS Licenses.
