FCC Recognizes National Consumer Protection Week With Consumer Information Expo

March 12, 2014, 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM EDT
FCC Commission Meeting Room, 445 12th Street, SW, Washington, DC 20554

In recognition of National Consumer Protection Week, the FCC's Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau will host a Consumer Information Expo on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, to educate the public on consumer protection issues related to communications.

Consumer protection is an ongoing effort at the FCC. Throughout the month of March, the FCC, federal agencies and the private sector are joining forces to educate consumers on issues such as fraud, identity theft and safeguarding measures online, and provide practical advice on topics such as finances, scams and communications information. At the Consumer Information Expo on March 12, which directly follows this year's National Consumer Protection Week, the FCC and various exhibitors will work to reinforce awareness of consumer protection issues and showcase available resources.

An agenda including a list of exhibitors will be released at a later date.  Additional information is available at

This consumer-focused event is free and open to the public.
