Speaker Series Event Featuring NIST's Office of Law Enforcement Standards

The Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC’s) Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau (PSHSB) announced it will hold a Speaker Series event to discuss the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST’s) role in improving public safety communications. The event will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 from 10:00 a.m.- 11:30 a.m. in the Commission Meeting Room (TW-C305). The event will focus on NIST’s role in developing and implementing standards for public safety communications and its partnership with PSHSB’s Emergency Response Interoperability Center (ERIC). Dereck Orr, Program Manger for Public Safety Communications in NIST’s Office of Law Enforcement Standards, will be the featured speaker. The event will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2010, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. (eastern daylight time) in the Commission Meeting Room (TW-C305), 445 12th St., S.W., Washington, D.C.
