Technological Advisory Council Meeting

1:00 pm - 4:00 pm EST
Commission Meeting Room, 445 12th Street, S.W., Washington, DC

The Council, comprised of a diverse array of leading technical experts, helps to provide the technical expertise the Commission needs to identify important areas of innovation and develop informed technology policies supporting America's competitiveness in the global economy.

The TAC is helping the Commission to continue the momentum of ideas and recommendations in the National Broadband Plan, such as how broadband communications can be part of the solution for the delivery and cost containment of health care, for energy and environmental conservation, for education innovation and in the creation of jobs.

At its initial meeting held on November 4th, 2010, TAC members had identified a number of technology areas that could influence the creation of jobs or were issues affecting the nation's economic competiveness. Since that initial meeting of the TAC, members have helped to further prioritize and develop some of these ideas. The Technical Advisory Council members will discuss this work, outline progress to date and discuss possible further work.
