“FCC-NCAI ITI Albuquerque Regional Workshop and Roundtable,” the fourth annual ITI workshop, was held in Albuquerque, NM, hosted in the context of the trust relationship shared by the FCC and Tribal Nations, by the FCC and the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) to examine technological issues regarding telecom deployment on Tribal lands and the related economic empowerment of Indian Country. Over 160 attendees, including Tribal leaders and technology representatives, and economic development and community planning managers, discussed the development of broadband services, accessing wireless spectrum, universal service support regulations involving Tribal governments, radio broadcasting, and homeland security and public safety communications planning.
