Expanding Disability Access with Wireless Technologies

As part of its continuing effort to develop and implement consumer-focused policies, including disabilities access, the Federal Communications Commission held a workshop on May 13, 2010, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Commission Meeting Room, on "Expanding Disability Access with Wireless Technologies."

The workshop focused on:

  • Mobile communications access issues facing people with disabilities and the disparities in technology access;
  • Ways in which new technologies can offer opportunities to meet the communications access needs of people with disabilities;
  • Technology demonstrations of advanced mobile communications
