Low Income Pilot Program Roundtable Discussion

The Federal Communications Commission's (FCC's) Wireline Competition Bureau (WCB) is hosting a roundtable discussion to enable interested parties to discuss the design of pilot programs that would provide subsidies for broadband access to low-income consumers.

The roundtable will initiate discussion among interested parties about how to design pilot programs for low-income consumers. 

The format of the roundtable will be a facilitated discussion led by Commission staff. During the roundtable, staff will solicit input from attendees on issues relating to pilot design, such as:

  • Pilot program goals and potential obstacles to achieving those goals;
  • Criteria for, and selection of, carriers to participate in pilot programs;
  • Criteria for, and selection of, consumers to participate in pilot programs;
  • Scope and duration of pilot programs; and
  • Metrics to measure accomplishment of goals.
